This was my dad’s favorite dessert, after anything chocolate. We called it monster because you wanted to eat it all up as soon as it came out of the oven. It’s actually a traditional Greek dessert called, “Galatoboureko (γαλακτομπούρεκο),” meaning “Milk-pie.”
Applesauce Cookies
I recently received a request:
My mother used to make these really delicious, healthy applesauce cookies. But now she can’t find the recipe. I was really little so all I remember is they were made with applesauce and probably whole wheat flour. They had raisins, and were very soft and fluffy. Also, I know they didn’t have oatmeal. Can you help me find this recipe?
I looked around a lot of different places and found a lot of applesauce cookie recipes that included oatmeal. Finally, I found one without. This recipe also has nuts, but I’m sure you can exclude those.
Pumpkin Trifle
This dessert makes everyone think of fall and Thanksgiving, but it’s great year round.
Oatmeal Pecan Cookies
This is one of the many recipes from my mother. They were usually gone before they cooled.
